Arthroscopy Pumps control saline injection into joint capsules to distend the joint so that surgery can be performed, often used for knee or shoulder reconstruction.
The primary design focus for this project was to create an intuitive and simple user interface (UI) which guides the user seamlessly through a linear process, eliminating the possibility of any missed steps during the set-up and priming process. Modifying pressure and flow settings, which require frequent adjustment throughout surgery, also needed to be carefully considered for ease of use.
Comprehensive exploration on color, styling, graphics, walk-through's, and help menus all contribute to a logical and instinctual UI which guides medical staff throughout the use of this product.
